NEW YORK CITY / LOS ANGELES—May 6, 2026—The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and Skechers today announced a multiyear deal that will position the global footwear leader as an Official Partner with the league. Skechers continues its ongoing global support for women’s sports, and will be a fixture throughout the league as the WNBA celebrates its milestone 30th season.
“We’re excited to welcome Skechers to the WNBA family at a moment of extraordinary momentum for our league,” said WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison. “This partnership reflects the growing demand from global brands to connect with WNBA fans worldwide. We look forward to collaborating with Skechers to create unique fan experiences, deepen engagement, and elevate the players who power our league.”
“Partnering with the WNBA illustrates our long-term commitment to promoting women’s basketball and elevating the athletes who are enthusiastic about the game at every level,” said David Weinberg, Chief Operating Officer at Skechers. “Skechers has been part of the basketball community for several seasons, and now fans will see our innovative footwear take center stage in the WNBA for the first time. We look forward to leveraging the league’s exploding popularity to help grow the sport while introducing our signature Comfort That Performs to even more athletes around the world.”
In 2024, forward Rickea Jackson, who was recently traded to the Chicago Sky, became the first athlete to play in Skechers Basketball footwear in the WNBA. Skechers expanded its roster in 2025, welcoming Washington Mystics forward Kiki Iriafen and shooting guard Jackie Young—who won her third WNBA championship with the Las Vegas Aces last season.
“For me, it’s all about staying comfortable and locked in, and Skechers gave me that all the way through our championship run last season,” said Jackie Young. “This season is going to be special, and it feels like the perfect time for Skechers to make it official. I can’t wait to see more players in the S on the court soon.”
“The Skechers team constantly checks in with me for feedback and ideas, so they’ve been a great partner for me as a player and I know they’ll be a fantastic partner for the league,” said Rickea Jackson. “And of course I love the shoes—they look and feel great on the court. It is only a matter of time until more players will start to catch on.”
“When Skechers signed me ahead of the draft last year, I knew this was a brand that believed not only in me, but in our sport overall,” added Kiki Iriafen. “From design to promotion, they truly prioritize the needs of female athletes and now that they’re partnered with the W, the possibilities are limitless.”
Skechers redefines basketball footwear with its innovative collection engineered for athletes of all skill levels. The lineup includes the fast and responsive SKX NEXUS, the flexible SKX Full-Court Press™, the lightweight SKX Resagrip® featuring advanced cushioning, and the SKX Reign™ for exceptional elevation and intense traction, amongst others. With Comfort That Performs® key to the entire range, Skechers empowers players to focus on their game and reach new heights every time they step onto the court.

The Footwear Company Will Donate $500,000 This Year to Help Get Dogs and Cats Out of Shelters and Into Loving Homes

BOBS® from Skechers® is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society®, donating $500,000 in 2026 to help save and support shelter animals across the country and find them loving homes.
LOS ANGELES, April 30, 2026 – BOBS® from Skechers® is proud to continue its lifesaving mission for pets in shelters through a renewed partnership with leading national non-profit Best Friends Animal Society. Together, the organizations share a common goal: to help every dog and cat experience total support and safety in a loving home. Launching this May in honor of National Pet Month and running through the end of the year, BOBS from Skechers will donate $500,000 to Best Friends to support its work to save every healthy and treatable pet in shelters.
“Best Friends Animal Society has a special place in BOBS history. When we launched our philanthropic movement to save shelter dogs and cats in 2015, it was with Best Friends,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers. “To date, BOBS has donated more than $14 million that has helped save and support over two million animals across the country and internationally. We’ve hosted adoption events, raised lifesaving funds through register round-ups at Skechers stores, and launched the Paws for a Cause Design Scholarship to spotlight creative students and rescue animals. We are excited to reunite with Best Friends and work together to save them all.”
The partnership will be celebrated through pet adoption events hosted by Skechers and Best Friends at Skechers stores throughout the month in collaboration with local shelters. Each event will bring adoptable dogs and cats front and center in their communities, helping to give them a chance at a loving home:
- May 2 – West Clifton, NJ with Bergen County Animal Shelter
- May 7 – Salt Lake City, UT with Weber County Animal Shelter
- May 16 – Pittsburgh, PA with Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh
- May 23 – Miami with Humane Society of Greater Miami
In addition, Skechers retail stores nationwide will host a month-long register roundup throughout May, inviting customers to support Best Friends and help raise critical funds for dogs and cats in shelters.

BOBS® from Skechers® and Best Friends® are launching their new partnership during May’s National Pet Month by hosting pet adoption events with local shelters and a national Skechers store roundup to raise funds for Best Friends. The Company will also unveil two winning designs from its annual Paws for a Cause Design Scholarship; the limited-edition styles will appear at select Skechers stores and on skechers.com.
“Best Friends is incredibly excited to reunite with BOBS from Skechers, a partnership that we know will have a meaningful impact on pets in shelters,” says Julie Castle, CEO, Best Friends Animal Society. “Our newest data shows that more than two out of three shelters are now no-kill, and hundreds more are within reach of that milestone. With support from partners like Skechers and community members around the country, we can achieve a day when no dog or cat dies in a shelter simply because they don’t have a safe place to call home.”
Skechers will also spotlight the next generation of animal advocates in May through the launch of two new designs from winners of the Company’s Paws for a Cause Design Scholarship. This year’s winners, Anelya Sapar from the School of Visual Arts and Elle Dalby from Penn State, created cat- and dog-themed patterns inspired by rescue pets and shared their personal stories with their furry family members. The annual program awards winners with $10,000 college scholarships, individual mentoring sessions and production of their prints on BOBS from Skechers shoes; this year’s limited-edition BOBS Paws for a Cause styles will be available at select Skechers stores and on skechers.com.
Consumers can shop the BOBS from Skechers offering online and at Skechers retail stores as well as department and specialty retailers. To learn more about the collection and the brand’s lifesaving mission, follow BOBS on Facebook and Instagram or visit BOBSfromSkechers.com.

The Phoenix Shirt Now Features Skechers Branding on the Front
Birmingham Phoenix cricket club announces global footwear brand Skechers as Lead Partner.
LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Birmingham Phoenix and Skechers, The Comfort Technology Company®, launch a partnership which sees the global footwear brand become Lead Partner with The Hundred team from the 2026 season onwards.
Skechers branding will appear front and centre on the Birmingham Phoenix shirt, in what is the beginning of a new era for the global sports team as The Hundred competition explodes into 2026.
The partnership reflects a shared ambition between Birmingham Phoenix and Skechers to connect with cricket fans in bold, authentic ways that impact the wider community.
Stuart Cain, Chief Executive of Birmingham Phoenix, said: “Skechers is one of the most instantly recognisable brands in the world and we are thrilled to welcome them to Birmingham Phoenix. Their approach to innovation and excellence fits perfectly with our ethos and that’s exactly what we were looking for in a Lead Partner – someone who aligns with our values and ambition.”
Richard Parker, Managing Director, Skechers UK & Ireland, said: “Throughout the past three years, we’ve ventured deeper into the world of performance sport – including cricket – and involvement with a competition and franchise of the calibre of The Hundred and Birmingham Phoenix shows our intent in the elite level sport. We look forward to the opportunities this partnership will provide to engage the wider cricket community, support the grassroots game locally, and build awareness for the signature comfort that performs of Skechers Cricket footwear.”
The Birmingham Phoenix partnership is the latest in a series of investments that Skechers has made in cricket in the United Kingdom. This started in January with the launch of Skechers Cricket Elite footwear that supports the needs and demands of all cricketers, at all levels.
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for Birmingham Phoenix and The Hundred, following the introduction of a new ownership structure designed to accelerate the competition’s growth. Under the revamped model, private investment partners will work alongside the ECB to drive long-term sustainability, global reach and innovation across the tournament.
Knighthead Capital Management has taken a strategic stake in Birmingham Phoenix, bringing significant experience in sports investment and franchise development. Together, the partnership with Skechers and the new ownership structure mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Birmingham Phoenix, as the team looks ahead to the 2026 season and beyond with renewed ambition and momentum.
The partnership was launched on Thursday, 5 March at an exclusive event at Sixes London Bridge, bringing together a diverse range of media and influencers ahead of the first-ever major sports auction in the UK next week.
Birmingham Phoenix is in a strong position ahead of the auction, following a successful player retention and direct signings window. England star Jacob Bethell and Australian great Ellyse Perry were retained by the Phoenix, joining men’s signings Rehan Ahmed, Donovan Ferreira and Mitch Owen, alongside Alice Capsey, Lauren Filer and Lucy Hamilton for Phoenix Women.
Beyond cricket, Skechers offers performance footwear for athletes across running, football, golf, basketball, pickleball and padel. Skechers partners with some of the most exciting talent in those sports who compete in the brand’s footwear including footballer Harry Kane, golfers Matt Fitzpatrick and Brooke Henderson, and Indian cricket legend Jasprit Bumrah.
