Each BOBS from Skechers Purchase Supports Best Friends Animal Society to Help Save the Lives of Shelter Pets Across the U.S.
MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– BOBS from Skechers, a division of leading lifestyle footwear company, Skechers USA, Inc. (NYSE:SKX), today unveiled a limited edition collection to benefit Best Friends Animal Society, the only national animal welfare organization dedicated exclusively to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. The collection – featuring fun prints of dogs, cats and the Best Friends logo – commemorates Skechers’ multi-year partnership with the organization. Each pair of BOBS from Skechers – including these limited edition styles – contributes to Skechers’ $3 million commitment to further Best Friends’ lifesaving initiatives. “We’re thrilled to bring our charitable partnership with Best Friends Animal Society to life with the launch of the limited edition BOBS from Skechers collection,” said Robert Greenberg, Chairman and CEO, Skechers. “We hope our partnership with Best Friends will inspire our customers to consider adoption when looking for a pet, in order to reduce the number of shelter pets killed each year. We’re excited to continue to offer new ways in which we’re able to empower our customers to give back.”
The BOBS from Skechers Best Friends collection debuts with five styles, all featuring the classic canvas alpargata silhouette and Skechers Memory Foam cushioned insole for added comfort. To promote the collaboration, Skechers will launch a national marketing campaign this spring, which includes a new TV commercial as well as print advertising, social media and in-store marketing.
“Every shoe purchased directly supports our mission – that one day, no dog or cat will be killed due to not having a permanent place to call home,” said Gregory Castle, co-founder and CEO, Best Friends Animal Society. “With companies like Skechers we’re able to reach an entirely new audience; we see this as a fun way to educate people about a very serious issue. We truly believe that together we will Save Them All.”
The Skechers and Best Friends partnership was announced in November 2015 and includes this limited edition collection, co-branded shoe box packaging for all BOBS from Skechers, national TV, print and digital marketing, PR, POP and other in-store collateral at domestic Skechers retail locations and participating retail partners. As part of the partnership, BOBS from Skechers will serve as the presenting sponsor for the animal welfare organization’s major national events including Strut Your Mutt and Super Adoptions, and participate in additional year-round awareness initiatives.
The limited edition collection in partnership with Best Friends is part of BOBS from Skechers’ ongoing charitable initiatives, which includes donating shoes to children in need around the globe.

Skechers Performance’s Stability Shoe Receives Accolade from one of the Running Industry’s Premier News Publications
MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Skechers Performance—a division of SKECHERS USA Inc. (NYSE:SKX)—wins Competitor magazine’s “Best Debut” award for the new 2016 Skechers GOrun Forza. Skechers GOrun Forza is the first stability shoe from the Performance Division and is featured in the March 2016 issue of Competitor magazine’s spring shoe guide.
Award Winning Skechers Performance GOrun Forza (Photo: Business Wire)
Skechers GOrun Forza was selected out of 48 shoes submitted for the stability category and was reviewed by 16 of Competitor Group’s experienced wear testers. The test process included runners logging multiple runs in each shoe, filling out a two-page questionnaire and engaging in a collective feedback session. Competitor is one of the world’s leading running publications, reaching more than 700,000 monthly readers with its print and digital magazine formats and more than 2 million unique followers online at Competitor.com.
“We are thrilled to receive this award from such an influential publication as Competitor magazine,” said Rick Higgins, Senior Vice President, Merchandising/Marketing, Skechers Performance. “Our teams worked closely with our athletes—Meb and Kara Goucher—as well as wear testers, to develop our first stability shoe that offers runners comfort and support while remaining lightweight and flexible. It’s exciting to see the running community embrace our product, and winning the ‘Best Debut’ award from Competitor further solidifies our credibility in the running space. “
“We love this shoe for its ideal mix of cushioning, comfort and support,” said Brian Metzler, Editor in Chief of Competitor. “It’s a great example of a modern stability shoe that provides the right amount of support without controlling your gait. It’s smooth and energetic and provides long-wearing comfort for all types of runs.”
Skechers Performance’s GOrun Forza launched in spring 2016 and features an extended medial post for support and Skechers Performance’s new 5GEN midsole foam—a resilient, proprietary compound that offers runners cushioning, coupled with excellent traction and durability. Skechers GOrun Forza is also built with a seamless, lightweight and breathable mesh upper that has reflective detailing for visibility and a high-abrasion rubber outsole.

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Skechers and GRAMMY® winning singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor have teamed up for a new multi-platform marketing campaign to launch the Skechers Originals retro sneaker collection. Meghan’s first television commercial for the campaign will officially hit the airwaves next week and features the lead single “NO” from her highly-anticipated sophomore album Thank You, which will be available worldwide on May 13, 2016.

A preview of the global TV campaign was revealed today with behind-the-scenes images from the set. An extended version of the commercial will also debut on YouTube to reveal a more in-depth story. The overall campaign recently kicked off with print ads, online and in-store images as well as via Meghan’s social media channels, and has already influenced her millennial fans who are positively impacting sales of the new collection.
“I can’t wait to travel the world and see my face in Skechers stores – it still blows my mind! It’s an honor and dream to work with a big brand like Skechers,” said Meghan Trainor on the set of her Skechers commercial. “For my new album I wanted to change it up with a different sound and a fresh new look – including my red hair transformation. I think it takes confidence to take risks and be original. Skechers has truly embraced this message in the new #MTrainSkechers campaign, and I can’t wait for my fans to see it!”
“Meghan is an inspirational artist with many impressive accomplishments at only age 22, so we’re thrilled to be working with her on this global campaign for Skechers Originals,” said Skechers president Michael Greenberg, who attended the shoot. “With the media attention after her well-deserved win at the GRAMMY® Awards and her new album, Meghan’s impact as an influencer continues to grow. Young women around the world are inspired by her, so we couldn’t be happier that Meghan is a member of the Skechers family.”
Before she rose to fame as a global pop sensation, Trainor independently released three albums by the time she turned 17. While still in high school, she was discovered by a Nashville publishing company and started writing tracks for hot country artists like Rascal Flatts and Hunter Hayes. Now signed with Epic Records, Trainor’s first mega-hit single “All About That Bass” was certified nine-times platinum and topped the airplay/sales-streaming-based Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, becoming the longest-leading Hot 100 No. 1 in Epic Records’ history. Trainor’s debut album, Title, entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 and remained in the top 30 of the weekly chart throughout 2015 with over 1 million copies sold. Following the huge success of “All About that Bass,” the album’s second single, “Lips Are Movin,” was certified quadruple platinum and the third single, “Dear Future Husband,” is double platinum. The album’s fourth hit single, “Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” featuring John Legend, reached the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs airplay chart and was certified double platinum.
Meghan Trainor’s partnership with Skechers extends through 2017 across all media platforms including television, print, online, social media, outdoor and point of purchase. Skechers has a long history of working with GRAMMY-winning female recording artists including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Carrie Underwood. Multi-platinum selling recording artist and actress Demi Lovato—who performed with Meghan in a Lionel Richie tribute at this year’s GRAMMY® Awards—is also featured in a current global Skechers marketing campaign that will extend through the end of 2016.
